In the grounds of the Mala Mala Reserve, a herd of wild buffaloes was leisurely grazing when they suddenly discovered a group of lions. The wild buffaloes quickly fled and scattered. However, what the lions were aiming for was a young buffalo. Very quickly they took down this small prey.
The calf was attacked by a herd of lions, and the buffalo herd’s instinct to protect the calf arose. At the moment when it seemed that the young buffalo had been called by death, the whole herd turned back to attack the lion.
Faced with the ferocity of the wild buffalo herd, the lions had to give in. The clash between the two species took place immediately after with consecutive attacks and counterattacks towards each other. Only when it felt unfavorable did the lions give up.
